The Crowning of Charlemagne

From lecture on 9/12/12: Prof. Stocchi-Perucchio mentioned the Crowning of Charlemagne as an important event in Western European history. Here are a few depictions of the event that were found through a quick Google search:

1) From the "Medieval Wall" Blog:

2) The Crowning of Charlemagne (from the 'Grandes Chroniques de France' with illustrations
by Jean Fouquet c.1461) (from Amelia Seyssel's Website)

3) Miniature depicting Pope Leo III crowning Charlemagne emperor on Christmas Day, 800;
from Chroniques de France ou de Saint-Denis, vol. 1, second quarter of the 14th century.
